Basic reading skill is what every child should have. At The Platform Foundation, we strive to build a foundational reading skill in children, especially in rural areas.
For children to learn to read early there are certain guidelines that must be followed and these guidelines are lacking in the curriculum used. So, having seen this problem we decided to introduce other curriculums that offer solutions to their reading deficiencies
Our pilot Program was in Dogo-Nahawa, where we are giving three hours a week to teach children the basic skills of reading, writing and comprehension.
We are going further to set up reading centres in IDP Camps to also help the children in those communities to learn how to read, write, and comprehend.
